Taegeukgi flag and the Mugunghwa flower,
which are national symbols. The taegeuk motif is surrounded

National tree Korean red pine (Pinus densiflora) Pine is the national tree of the Democratic
People's Republic of Korea. It is an evergreen
needle-leaf tall tree belonging to Pinaceae
National flower Hibiscus syriacus The flower appears in national emblems, and Korea is compared poetically
to the flower in the South Korean national anthem.
The flower's name in Korean is mugunghwa (Hangul: 무궁화; Hanja: 無窮花)
National bird Korean magpie(Pica sericea) In Korea, the magpie (까치, "kkachi") is celebrated
as "a bird of great good fortune, of sturdy
spirit and a provider of prosperity and development".
